Its been called the “Facebook for developers” so it’s no surprise that this particular unicorn has our ears perked for insights on how it helped other startups grow along the way. Github was founded in 2008. Since then the company has grown to millions of registered users and counts companies like American Airlines, Zendesk, Groupon, Nasa, Leap Motion and MGM amongst its customers. Erica is the former COO and co-founder of Bitnami. She led the helm from 2011 until it was sold to VMware in May of 2019. Hear and learn from her experiences first hand.
Speakers: Github COO Erica Brescia
StackOverflow.com is one of the 50 most popular websites in the world, and its foundation is its global, diverse developer community.
Community was also the inspiration for Stack Overflow for Teams, the leading collaboration SaaS solution for developers, knowledge, and technical workers. Stack Overflow for Teams has more than doubled in growth every year since its inception, both due to developers’ love of the solution and its ability to activate agile communities within companies.
Learn from Stack Overflow’s CEO on how to reach developers, who have increasing influence on purchasing decisions. And hear key takeaways from the largest and most trusted developer community in the world that can be applied to knowledge and technical workers everywhere.
Speakers: Stack Overflow CEO Prashanth Chandrasekar
Zapier's growth relative to our headcount is fairly abnormal. In just eight years, we've grown from a side project between three friends to a profitable company with over 50M ARR and (by the time we talk at SaaStr) over 2,000 partners. We've grown a sustainable business with a team of 250 people, and only 1.2 million in funding and a large part of our success can be attributed to automation.
Wade can talk about how automation has enabled our growth, the different (and often surprising) things our team members automate, and how to make the decision on if you should automate, or hire
Speakers: Zapier CEO Wade Foster
In this panel, we will hear from open source ecosystem leaders from community, early-stage, and growth on the approaches that contrast building a commercial open source company as contrasted with SaaS: from product, business model and ecosystem development.
Speakers: OSS Capital Founder and GP Joseph Jacks, The Practical Dev Co-Founder Jessica Lee, Gitlab Co-Founder and CEO Sid Sijbrandij
Allowing your company’s software to be used for free was previously looked at as an insane concept. How are you supposed to build a successful business if people aren’t paying for your product? Fast forward to now, open source frameworks are becoming the new normal with more companies like Chef and Cloudera making their software more open, shaping their business model after Red Hat.
Speakers: Snowflake CMO Denise Persson,Neo4j CEO Emil Eifrem and Cockroach Labs CEO Spencer Kimball
Plato mentorship sessions are group discussions are led by leaders in the product and engineering field. This will be a conversation for a group of ten, organized by the mentorship platform, Plato. These sessions are being held twice back-to-back times, so if the topic you want fills up, be sure to check the other timings for a second chance at a mentor you wanted to connect with or if you want to meet with someone different.
This year at SaaStr Annual will have a special place just for developers and engineers. Located in the Expo Hall, attendees in these fields will have exclusive access to a lounge where they can kick their feet up, catch up on some work and network with other great minds in the industry.
